2_4 "You seem like a nice person
would you like to meet some where?" Have you ever chatted on the Internet with a complete stranger? Most people have at least
once in their lives. You probably didn't think anything was wrong with a simple conversation. Have you ever thought what if
that person you're talking to is a murderer?
This was the case for
a young girl from Kansas. I received an email stating a girl was missing since October 4,2005 and was found
murdered on October 7,2005. The main suspect was a man she chatted with on the Internet.
I read most of her family and friends devastating comments that they left on her Internet page.
The Internet is becoming
a rising interest to many in the world. Anyone and everyone have accesses to it. Like adults, teenagers, and children have
accesses to the Internet. There are ways to prevent people from becoming endangered from chatting on the Internet. If we take
action and follow the ways to prevent an endangerment of society there will be a decrease in murder victims.
One of the ways to
stop this growth of madness is to limit conversations on the Internet. The less you talk to them the less you feel the need
to meet them. If you do decide to meet them for some odd reason meet in a public place and bring some friends. Also don’t
give out any personal information to people you don’t know. With the increase of technology if you have the slightest
information anyone is able to find out everything about a person's back round information.
Another idea is to
make sure no one you know is also chatting and meeting people they don’t know over the Internet. If you have a child
talk to your child and tell them about this problem that is going around on the Internet. Advise the people you know that
this is a serious problem that cannot be taken lightly.
Next time you're on
the Internet having simple conversation with someone you don’t know. I hope you take this into consideration that the
other person just might be a murderer. Now I'm not saying everyone is a murderer that chats on the Internet. I'm just hoping
that what happened to the girl in Kansas does not happen
to you.
